Daughter of a prominent doctor in Greenwich, Connecticut, Dr. Reid grew up in a very privileged, but under loved household.   A self proclaimed WASP, Dr. Reid's many neuroses are the result of her mother, a cold, bitter alcoholic, who constantly pressures her about her love life, appearance and encourages her daughter's insecurity about sex.

At Sacred Heart, Dr. Reid began as an intern and later became a resident. She served as Co-Chief Resident with Dr. Dorian in 2004. At the end of her fourth year at Sacred Heart, she briefly left to take on an endocrinology fellowship at North County University Medical Center, which ended a short five days later, after her research partner found the cure to the disease they were researching. Recently joining a private practice at Sacred Heart, she no longer has to answer to Dr. Cox Dr. Kelso in additional to receiving double what she was previously paid.  

Dr. Reid has been romantically linked to many people within the Sacred Heart, most notably her best friend, Dr. John Dorian.
