Often overwhelmingly narcissicistic, self-absorbed, ranting, and intern-berating, the curly haired Dr. Perry Cox actually cares more about the hospital than anything else.

Although he's a little hard on the interns, other doctors, most patients, and generally everybody, it's only because he's pretty sure he knows everything.

Truth be told, Dr. Cox takes his job very seriously, and if he seems a bit abrasive at times, it's only because he cares.   He doesn't want anyone to know it, but he probably cares too much.   And that's why he gives the other doctors a hard time.   He wants them to be as good a doctor as he - if not better.   And so, somehow, amidst his incessant condescending ramblings, there's usually a good lesson... if you're man enough to handle it.

Quotes:

"Write this down newbie, if you push around a stiff, nobody will ask you to do anything."

"It turns out we can't save people from themselves, newbie.   We just treat 'em. We're gonna treat that kid with a respiratory problem, and when he comes back with cancer, go ahead and treat that too."

"I'll go find God, quit drinking, get in touch with myself emotionally, and we'll meet right back here at half past impossible, mm'kay?"

"I will tell you one thing, though. If you even want to have an outside chance of reaching someone nowadays... you damn sure better speak from your heart."

Random Fact:   The name Percival originates from King Arthur's knight whose virtue was so great that he alone could retrieve the Holy Grail.
